What We
Care About

We exist to shift consciousness from ego-centric to world-centric thinking.

We started in 2004 responding to the Iraq War and the disinformation that enabled it. Our purpose was education and awareness on environmental destruction, social inequalities, human rights, war and peace. We became a packaging company because environmental destruction demands action. But we never stopped believing that awareness matters, that accurate information changes decisions, that staying silent in the face of injustice is complicity.

Our History

Our mission is to
be of service to people and planet

World Centric was founded to put people and the planet before profit. For over 20 years, we’ve developed compostable packaging and donated 25% of profits to grassroots organizations, not because these actions solve everything, but because they’re concrete steps we can take. We’re working within an imperfect system, making deliberate choices that align with our values.

Our Values

Meet the founder
Aseem Das

Aseem Das, our founder and CEO, was an AI software engineer working with Boeing, NASA, and TIBCO when the Iraq War started. He watched disinformation shape public opinion. He watched systems built on extraction presented as inevitable. The question formed: can we build differently?

In 2004, he started World Centric as a nonprofit in his garage. Not a business plan. A response. He screened documentaries on war, environmental destruction, and social inequality because he believed accurate information changes decisions. He sold fair trade goods at these events. People kept asking: what about the packaging? What about the plates and cups we’re using right now?

The work expanded. Documentary screenings became educational programs. Awareness work required funding. Funding required revenue. He discovered compostable materials as an alternative to petroleum-based packaging. What began as documentary screenings evolved into a mission-driven business that sources compostable packaging and gives 25% of profits to grassroots organizations addressing poverty and environmental challenges.
