La Cocina is a nonprofit that supports informal food businesses, many led by women, immigrants, and people of color, in building stable and sustainable enterprises. Founded in 2005, the organization provides access to affordable commercial kitchen space, business training, and peer networks to support long-term economic mobility.
In November 2025, World Centric aligned with this mission by supplying our compostable foodware for their 20th anniversary San Francisco Street Food Festival. By equipping vendors at China Basin Park with our compostable products, we helped lead with sustainability and drive waste reduction during this milestone event.
River City Company drives economic growth and enhances the quality of life in downtown Chattanooga by creating public initiatives that bring residents together in shared civic spaces.
One such initiative is Gratefull, a citywide Thanksgiving potluck held at a single long table in the street where everyone is welcome. To ensure this gathering remains sustainable, World Centric provided compostable clamshells, cups, and cutlery. Thanks to our collaboration with distribution partner NewTerra Compost, Gratefull successfully operated as a zero-waste event.
