Measuring What Matters

Reducing World Centric’s carbon footprint is central to our commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of our products. Each year, we conduct a comprehensive carbon accounting report, measuring emissions across our full lifecycle—from manufacturing and transport to warehousing, office energy use, and delivery. This data gives us a clear roadmap for cutting emissions and guides our sustainability investments. By identifying where our biggest impacts occur, we can take meaningful steps to reduce them.

Steps Toward a Low-Carbon Future

We measure our impact through annual carbon accounting, which tracks emissions from our operations, identifies reduction opportunities, guides our carbon giving program, and ensures transparency in our performance. Since establishing our baseline in FY2021, we’ve reduced emissions per unit of product, with major gains from suppliers adopting renewable energy. While recent reductions have been more modest, this reflects the challenge of achieving further progress, and we remain committed to collaborating with suppliers and investing in effective solutions to continue lowering emissions responsibly.

Investing in Climate Action Through Carbon Giving

Reducing our carbon footprint is central to World Centric’s commitment to minimizing environmental impact, and where emissions are unavoidable, we address them through our Carbon Giving program. Climate change, driven largely by carbon emissions tied to consumerism in the Global North, requires proactive solutions, so we measure and reduce our operational footprint while also investing in long-term projects that cut or sequester carbon. Carbon Giving spans all our funding, supporting initiatives that address climate action holistically, including projects highlighted in our FY24 Carbon Accounting Report, with a strong focus on areas like indigenous land rights.

Carbon Giving

Through our Carbon Giving program, we invest in grassroots initiatives that reduce or sequester carbon emissions while strengthening the resilience of frontline communities most affected by climate change. Carbon Giving is not a standalone effort, but an integral part of our broader giving strategy, woven into every project we support that addresses both climate action and social equity.
